In just a couple weeks, those red kettles synonymous with the holidays will start to appear at local stores.  The Salvation Army is asking for your help to ring in the season.

Bell ringing starts November 8 and runs until Christmas Eve. Sometimes you'll see a red kettle stationed outside a store without a bell ringer, but those kettles don't bring in nearly as many donations. The Salvation Army would like to fill all its two-hour shifts so it can reach its campaign goal. Volunteers can sign up online at www.registertoring.com.

The Salvation Army will also hire bell ringers to fill slots if necessary.  Typically paid positions go to people who are in need over the holidays.  Applications are available at your local Salvation Army office.  You can get more information by contacting Volunteer Coordinator Jeremy Koren at jeremy.koren@usc.salvationarmy.org.
