The 12th annual Load the Lobby campaign will officially end Friday at 9 a.m. Like everything else this year there were a few changes we had to make in what we can accept.

The major change is we no longer will be able to accept used toys as we have in the past thanks to COVID-19 guidelines. We are also teaming up with Toys for Tots as well this year. So we are asking that you help us Load the Lobby with brand new toys only or drop off a check to purchase toys for the less fortunate children in the area. But time is running out.

Our lobby is located at 24th and Broadway behind the Coach House Restaurant and all toys and checks will be turned over to the Salvation Army for their Toy Town Distribution later this month.

As a parent, the process of teaching your children is an everyday occurrence. Load the Lobby is a teaching opportunity parents have right now to make this a very special Christmas for their own children as well.

Making children understand that there are less fortunate kids out there and that Christmas depends on the generosity of you and your children is a wonderful lesson to be learned at Christmas time. This is the essence of Y101 and KICK-FM’s Load the Lobby campaign.

So why not let your children pick out that brand new toy and drop it off at the radio station?

The lobby in Quincy will be open today and tomorrow from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and then Friday morning from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.  All collected new toys will then be transported to the Salvation Army Friday morning at 9 a.m.

A special thanks and Merry Christmas to those who have donated already. Enjoy your holiday season and let us all count our blessings for all the things we do have, because there are many in our community who don’t.
