The Salvation Army has announced that the Christmas Campaign has raised 93% of their Christmas fund-raising goal. So far the Salvation Army has raised $374,731 toward the $405,000 goal in Quincy.

Funds raised through this campaign help provide Christmas food baskets, toys for children, delivery of gifts to nursing homes and shut-ins, and the community holiday meals.  These funds are also needed to help support our social services programs and services such as food pantry, rent and utility assistance, life skills classes, disaster services, Pathway of Hope, and our employment assistance program, which helps provide work clothing, certifications, transportation, etc. to individuals who need a hand up in getting a job.

There is still time to help the Salvation Army reach it’s goal. With $30, 269 still needed, tax-deductible donations to The Salvation Army are still being accepted and can be made by cash, check, charge, or by calling or stopping by The Salvation Army at 405 Vermont Street in Quincy. Donations can also be made by texting “DONATEQUINCY” to 41444. The charitable IRA rollover also provides another way of supporting The Salvation Army.

Meanwhile, Development Director Patty Douglas stated “For those who have donated, we thank you, and appreciate your generosity, The Salvation Army is looking forward to doing the most good in the new year. We are blessed to have the support of such a great community.”
