I've heard Missouri called dangerous before for a variety of reasons, but this is a new one. The Show Me State apparently is on the brink of disaster because of having the most dangerous traffic laws in America. Hang on, because we need to find out what the problem is behind Missouri's laws behind the wheel.

I saw this story just shared on the Missouri sub-Reddit. It's a story just shared by Jalopnik yesterday entitled "Missouri Has The Most Dangerous Traffic Laws In The U.S." and it has data to back up that claim.

This wild claim about Missouri driving danger is the result of a study by Advocates For Highway & Auto Safety. They examined each state to see if they had in place "18 different highway laws proven to reduce crashes, save lives and reduce injuries". Guess how many Missouri has?

Answer - ONE

The kicker is that the one traffic law deemed good by the organization involved red light cameras and that one was ruled unconstitutional by the Missouri Supreme Court. Whoopsie daisies.

I'm not disputing the claims about Missouri's lack of decent traffic laws, but I drive on Missouri highways almost every single day and the most "dangerous" drivers I encounter are not the ones with Missouri plates.

Beauty (or lack thereof) is in the eye of the beholder and that includes a state's driving prowess.
