The Quincy Salvation Army has assisted 16 people, helping them find permanent housing or maintaining their homes, thanks to a $5,000 grant from Ameren Illinois. Thanks to Ameren Illinois, these individuals and families avoided financial collapse which ultimately could have resulted in homelessness. For those already struggling with homelessness, this grant allowed The Salvation Army the ability to help individuals and families establish stability.

The Salvation Army emergency shelter provides homeless prevention and rapid rehousing services when funding is available. The Quincy Salvation Army assists some 350 to 400 people who come to their emergency shelter program every year.

This grant was made available through the Ameren Cares program, which connects Ameren Illinois with the communities it serves through charitable giving and volunteering.
