The crimes are unspeakable and they've been happening along interstates across America. According to a book by a former FBI agent, an Illinois man is one of many truck driving serial killers that have taken the lives of thousands.

I saw The Daily Mail share a new book called "Long Haul - Hunting the Highway Serial Killers" by Frank Figliuzzi from Harper Collins. It includes the story of Bruce D. Mendenhall, a truck driver from Illinois, who was captured in Tennessee and later convicted of the murder of two women and is suspected of murdering 5 others.

I won't include the gruesome details, but suffice it to say the victims were tortured and killed in his truck. Accusations say that he may have run over others according to The Daily Mail story.

The worst part? Bruce D. Mendenhall of Illinois is not alone in his crimes. The book asserts that the FBI is pursuing up to 500 other serial killer truck drivers. Many others that have been captured have similar torture chambers in their trucks with some having killed dozens. It's quite literally an epidemic of mobile killers that the FBI apparently believes travel interstates like I-70, I-80 and I-40 across America leaving death in their wake.
