The National Football League chase for the Super Bowl berth is down to four teams.  This weekend the Baltimore Ravens will play at New England against the Patriots for the American football Conference Championship. The National Football Conference title game will pit San Francisco's 49ers at Altlanta to meet the Falcons.

My two favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Giants will both be doing what I am this weekend, watching the games. Of the four remaining teams, I'd love to see Tony Gonzalez and the Falcons win it all. Tony has been a long time player who has had a remarkable career and is a great role model for kids as well (something lacking in the NFL these days).

I have never been a Ravens fan, but I will be this weekend especially since former QND and Illini standout Jack Cornell is on the team. Jack has been on the "taxi" squad all season long for the Ravens and has not seen any regular or post season game action. But you never know in football.  He's one play away from making his pro football debut in of all games, the Super Bowl.

I was unaware until I read a blog from fellow employee, Bill Shuler, that the Ravens Linebacker coach, Ted Monachino, coached for the Hannibal Pirates in the early 1990's. So with two local ties to the Ravens, I'll be pulling for them on Sunday.

So here's to a Falcons-Ravens "high flying" Super Bowl on February 3rd.
