It might seem that performing the National Anthem would be an easy task, but Ace Frehley never learned how to read music. He was a self-taught guitar player who performed from the gut and from the heart. That's likely what made his performance of the National Anthem special. Watch and remember for yourself.

The Kansas City Chiefs of 2009 were not the same type of team that the Kansas City Chiefs of recent years. According to ESPN, the Chiefs were beaten by the New York Giants that day by a score of 27-16. I wonder if it was Ace's New York connection that inspired the Chiefs to ask him to perform the anthem that day. It was a beautiful and chilly October afternoon in Kansas City that day when Ace Frehley walked out onto the field and delivered an unforgettable national anthem while wearing a NASA t-shirt. Ace will forever be missed.
