Yard Waste Collection in Quincy Resumes Today
Yard Waste Collection will resume in Quincy beginning today, March 19. Once again today Evans Recycling will collect yard waste in marked containers and the special yard waste paper bags. Marked containers must be marked with a 2 inch wide stripe in a contrasting color 12 inches from the top of the container.
In order for yard waste (leaves and grass) to be collected, it must be bagged, bundled or in cans (loose) and placed at the curb. Yard waste can be stored in marked reusable containers or in biodegradable paper bags which are sold in local stores.
Containers should be marked with a 2 inch stripe in a contrasting color approximately 12 inches from the top of the container. Plastic bags are not accepted. Total weight of bags must not exceed 40 lbs. and 55 gallon drums cannot be used.
Branches are not to exceed 1” in diameter and 4’ in length. The City of Quincy and Evans Recycling would like to remind citizens that trash, garbage, or recycle items should not be placed in yard waste bags.
The hours of operation at Evans Recycling at 711 West Radio Road are from 7 to 7 through December 1.
The disposal site is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
