There were a few that were a tiny bit alarmed when they learned that there were Russian MIG-29's spotted at the Quincy, Illinois airport, but it's actually fine. Well, I'm pretty sure it's fine probably.

I saw this fun share on the Flightradar 24 Flight Spotters Meta page earlier today. Here's what the person shared on their post:

"I drove by Quincy Illinois airport yesterday and spotted what I thought was a MiG fighter jet but couldn’t make it out. It had weird camo design. Can anyone confirm or inform me what it might be? Thank you."

You can see the picture for yourself. Yes, those really are MIG-29's although I was probably wrong calling them Russian. Here's the most-liked answer on the gentleman's post that explains why these fighters were at the Quincy airport.

Many don't realize that there are often planes like this that are either used for flight training and/or combat training for the Navy or Air Force. No, it's not every day that you'll see MIG-29's at one of our local airports, but it's not crazy rare either. I share this because I don't want you to think we're living out the real life version of the movie "Red Dawn" (the 1984 version, of course is WAY better than the newer one). No, the Russians haven't landed in Quincy as they prepare to take over (or so I hope). It's just another aerial brush with greatness at our local airport.
