Forbes Gives Blessing Hospital in Quincy a 5-Star Rating

I love getting to share good news about local places in Quincy. Today, that includes Blessing Hospital which was just recently given a 5-star rating from Forbes.

I just came across this very recent share by Forbes as they rated the top hospitals in America. Near the top of the list is Quincy's Blessing Hospital which was given a 5-star rating overall.

What does this 5-star rating from Forbes mean for Blessing Hospital?

According to their methodology, Forbes issued ratings in 4 primary categories including outcomes, value, patient experience and best practices. Blessing Hospital scored well in all with 5 stars for outcomes, 4 stars for patient experience while getting 3 stars for best practices and values. When you factor in that Blessing was competing with thousands of hospitals across America, it's quite an achievement to be named among the best of the best.

One of my daughters was born at Blessing Hospital many years ago and they treated her and all of our family like royalty. Not to cross the sharing boundary, but I had kidney stones about 20 years ago and ended up in the ER at Blessing. They were very tolerant of my bad attitude (if you've had kidney stones, you understand) and deserve a medal for putting up with me.

It's unfortunately not that often that I get to share good news. The world seems to love the sensational and the controversial more than the good sadly. In this case, I'm happy to be the messenger about a great national shout-out for one of our local medical facilities and they're life-saving staff.
