The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri now has the totals for rainfall in the month of June and it's a record-setter for Quincy, Illinois.

Along with the monthly total of 10.89 inches of rain in Quincy, the National Weather Service added "this month had 5 days with at least 1.0" of rain, which is tied for 2nd most. Lastly, the greatest 24 hour rainfall was 2.78" falling on June 10."

According to the National Weather Service, an average June in Quincy would see about 4 1/2 inches of rainfall. This June, there were numerous severe storm systems that dumped large amounts of rain in very short time periods. As I write this, Quincy has just experienced a completely dry and hot week. I think there are many of us who would LOVE a big rain right now to tone down the heat a little bit. That may happen this weekend, but it won't change June which is now officially the 3rd wettest June ever.
