I have faith that the next generation has what it takes to succeed. However, a new very disturbing video will cause many to doubt that. It shows a 65-year-old Missouri teacher who was attacked by a student.

I saw this video reported on by The Root. It's become very famous for all the wrong reasons as X (formerly Twitter) shows this video has been viewed more than 17.4 million times as of this writing. This terrible incident reportedly happened at Normandy High School which is located in St. Louis.

While this video was shared on X with a rolling on the floor laughing emoji, there's absolutely nothing funny about this.

The student is not named and I wouldn't share that person's name even if I knew it.

The Root shared this statement from the Normandy School District about this incident:

“The district is addressing an incident that occurred this morning involving a confrontation between a teacher and a student. The administration is taking this matter seriously and is fully cooperating with local law enforcement. Additionally, we have launched an internal investigation to gather all the necessary facts surrounding the incident, and appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings of these investigations. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of the utmost importance to Normandy Schools Collaborative, and our primary focus is to provide a safe and nurturing space for students to learn and for teachers to educate.”

They also report the student will be facing criminal charges.
