It would be a good idea to keep an eye on the weather the week of December 12 as a monster system is expected to bring tornadoes to parts of Missouri and Illinois.

I've seen multiple weather websites including the National Weather Service mention the possibility of severe weather Monday, December 12 and Tuesday, December 13. Accuweather estimates that severe weather will begin later in the day on December 12 with torrential downpours, hail and tornadoes possible through much of southern Missouri and Illinois.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a warning on Twitter days ahead of time and that's not common.

Since Arkansas is expected to be one of the main impacted areas, a meteorologist from KARK did a good breakdown of why early next week is being watched.

Weather Nation shared maps showing heavy rain possible for northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois also.

Since this is weather, variables can change between the date of this writing and Monday, December 12 and Tuesday, December 13. It's just best to know that you'll want to pay attention to the developing storm system as it enters parts of the Midwest and South early next week.
