Local Tumblers Headed to U.S.T.A. Nationals in West Virginia
Gem City Gymnastics has qualified 19 athletes to advance on to United States Trampoline & Tumbling Association (U.S.T.A.) National Championships. That event will be held in Charleston, West Virginia, on June 17-22.
Each athlete competed in 2 to 7 invitational competitions and U.S.T.A. State competition in order to qualify for Nationals. The season began in November of 2018, and Nationals will cap off a full season for these athletes. Each athlete trains one to three days per week with many also attending additional private lessons.
Advanced level athletes will compete in preliminaries to qualify to advance to the finals their second day. Athletes in all other levels will be competing only once to claim their title.
