Athletes with special needs will now have a fun new way of getting exercise.

Gem City Gymnastics will be offering a new Adaptive Gymnastics class for athletes with special needs. The class will be available in the spring of 2019 for children age 5 to 12 differing abilities or special needs.

The class will provide gross motor coordination, sensory processing, language concepts, social skills, and just plan fun. Like every class at Gem City, the first class will be free to make sure that the child likes the class. If they do, you will be able to sign them up for the remaining session dates. Each class will be 30 minutes on Wednesday afternoons when the gym is at its quietest.

A guardian or caregiver needs to be with the child but the class itself will be taught by one of the coaches at Gem City Gymnastics who has received one-on-one training with a local occupational therapist. If this is something that you and your child might be interested in participating in, spring registration will start on Monday, November 19.
