21-Year-Old Kirksville, Missouri Man Dead After Crash Into Pond
The Fourth of July weekend in Missouri sadly has another fatality to report. A 21-year-old Kirksville, Missouri man is dead after his vehicle crashed and rolled over into a pond just off Highway 63 north of LaPlata.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report just shared Friday morning says that Trevor A. Benda, age 21, of Kirksville, Missouri was traveling just north of LaPlata, Missouri at approximately 3:30am Friday, July 5 when the vehicle left the roadway and hit an embankment resulting in the rollover of his car into a small pond.
Rescuers involved in the crash were the Adair County Ambulance, Adair County Sheriff's Department plus the Kirksville and LaPlata Fire Departments.
The report says that he was taken by Air Evac to the University of Missouri in Columbia where he was later pronounced dead.
Next of kin has been notified by authorities prior to the publication of this article.
