Covid has caused so much many changes in 2020, but there is one thing low-income households can count on for the upcoming holiday season. Help is available to continue the tradition of providing Christmas food boxes and toys to put under the tree for those in need.

In the Hannibal area, enrollment is going on now for Christmas assistance programs. The participating organizations include the Hannibal Salvation Army, Toys for Tots of Northeast Missouri, Douglass Community Services, and NECAC.

Christmas applications are available at the Hannibal Salvation Army, Douglass Community Services, and NECAC. Forms can also be found online at douglassonline.org under the forms tab and at salvationarmyhannibal.org. Applications can be returned to any of the three organizations during business hours. The Hannibal Salvation Army Family Services Office is located at 200A Steamboat Bend Shopping Center in Hannibal. Distribution sites will be located in Hannibal, Canton, Shelbina, and Bowling Green.
