Navy Pier is a landmark in Chicago, and one of the biggest tourist attractions in the United States, it has been shut down for months due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but it is about to reopen to the public!

Navy Pier announced on their Facebook page today that the iconic pier will be reopening on April 30th. It will be a phased reopening that will hopefully lead to a full opening later in 2021, so what is open on Navy Pier starting on April 30th? According to the Facebook post they say...

"As part of this initial phase, the following will be open and accessible to the public: Navy Pier parking garages, Polk Bros Park, Peoples Energy Welcome Pavilion, North and South Docks, Pier Park, East End Plaza, tour boats and cruises, the new Sable hotel, and select restaurants at limited capacity."

If you go to their website navypier.org they explain further their safety guidelines for the phased reopening, but they also announced that the legendary fireworks displays will be returning this year! The fireworks shows return Saturday nights in May, they are so much fun to sit on the pier with a drink in hand and enjoy.

Navy Pier was fully renovated just a year before the COVID-19 shut down, and let me tell you it is a must do when you plan your summer trip to Chicago, family friendly, great restaurants, great places to shop, and of course who doesn't love just sitting on the water drinking a beer!
