Video Shows Abandoned Illinois Bowling Alley Still Working

Safe to say that many of us have a soft spot in our hearts for bowling, especially the old style places that have that retro vibe. Urban explorers recently discovered an abandoned bowling alley in Illinois that seemed frozen in time with lanes that were still working - more or less.

This compelling new video investigation shows what's left inside of this once-busy bowling establishment in Chicago with power still on and lanes somewhat operational. Everything was left behind like the bowling alley was deserted in the middle of a league night.

Along with bowling pins still in the machines and the power still on in the building, there are even racks of bowling shoes that were left behind. I wonder if they have an 8 1/2?

I was looking at the Bluebird Lanes Facebook page and there have been no updates in over 3 years. Their listing on Yelp does say that this Chicago, Illinois bowling alley is closed. I looked at the reviews to see if there were complaints or a pattern as to why this bowling alley closed, but several people mentioned it was a decent family spot and fun place to hold birthday parties, but those reviews were from years ago.

I appreciate and share content from obsoleteVoids because they never mess with any place they explore. Just document what they find and leave it in the same state that they found it. This Illinois bowling alley looks like it's in decent enough condition for someone to clean it up and make it an active place again. Hopefully some entrepreneur gets it done before vandals trash it beyond repair.
