I've been known to give my friends in the Missouri bootheel a hard time, but I mean it out of love - a love for making fun of people who almost live in Arkansas. I am kidding...for the most part. I seriously did have a guy who became a friend who I met during my time at Missouri Boys State back in the early 80's who was from a small town in the bootheel. We lost touch. Too bad, but he lived in the bootheel so who could blame me?

I mention the Missouri bootheel so much because Homesnacks just recently crunched some new numbers to decide where the cheapest place to live in Missouri is. According to their data, the city that now wears that cheapo crown is Kennett, Missouri.

So what's so cheap about Kennett, Missouri?

Homesnacks says that Kennett, Missouri has "a median home value of $88,000 and median rent of $570". Dang. That's affordable. That begs the question would you be willing to live in a $570 home in the Missouri bootheel?

When you factor in that Kennett has "a median income of $50,127", that average home price and rent really starts to look good (except for that nearly living in Arkansas part).
