It's no small thing in a state with some epic hikes to be called the best. According to one of the most popular hiking websites, the best hike in Missouri features a river and some crazy beautiful views.

I consider All Trails to be the definitive website for trail information and rankings. I decided to check their rankings for the best hike in Missouri and their #1 is River Scene Trail Loop. Here's how All Trails describes River Scene Trail Loop:

River Scene Trail Loop is a 3.1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Ballwin, Missouri that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Somewhat recently, a guy hiked that trail and shared some of the visuals along this route.

One of the reasons I rely on All Trails for which hikes are better than others are the reviews that hikers share. Those that have left reviews of the River Scene Trail Loop seem to agree that the views are gorgeous. They also offer tips for enjoying the hike more. One mentioned that due to the hike's popularity, it can get busy later in the day so arriving before 9am will give you a more serene experience. Weekdays are also more peaceful than weekends which isn't surprising.
