The Most Romantic Walk in Illinois Includes Bison?

Do you enjoy a relaxing walk? Are you looking for romance? Do you love bison? If you can answer yes to all three of those questions, the most romantic walk in Illinois should be to your liking.

I have gone on many a hike in different parts of Illinois, but I have never been on the Effigy Tumuli Trail which has just been named the most romantic hike in Illinois by Only In Your State. There's a lot to like about this walk in the Land of Lincoln. All Trails says it's only around 1.7 miles which is great for underachievers like me that get exhausted walking from the couch to the refrigerator. It's also one of the most highly-rated hikes in Illinois, too. It's located about halfway between Chicago and Peoria.

Did I mention there are bison there?

If you're up for a hike that requires a bit more effort, you should consider the River Bluff Trail near Peoria. It includes some very pretty (some say romantic) sights, too.

You really can't go wrong either way no matter if you're looking for a loving moment, want some good healthy exercise or just enjoy river (and bison) views while you walk. Say what you want about Illinois, but the hiking options in the state are epic and these are two of the best.
