Being the independent (and stubborn) person that I am, I decided to do my own research into the most remote place in Missouri and I found it in the middle of the Mark Twain National Forest.

There are no homes, towns or civilization buried in this part of Missouri, but there is a hiking trail called Cathedral Canyon and it's gorgeous.

I saw another hiking blogger say that many know this part of Missouri as Dark Hollow. No matter what you call it, it's about as far away from other people that you can find in Missouri. There is something you should know, though. While there aren't many people in this part of Missouri, there are plenty of snakes as this adventurer learned.
