White Christmas in Your Missouri Town? Farmers Almanac Predicts

It's the eternal question. Will your Missouri town have a white Christmas? Farmer's Almanac recently weighed in on the chances your ground will be white when you open presents in the Show Me State this year.

A few days ago, I shared data from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center about the Missouri town most likely to have a white Christmas. If you didn't see that, spoiler alert, it's Unionville which has had a white Christmas about 33% of the time over the past 3 decades. But, what about the rest of the state?

Farmer's Almanac just gave two predictions of the likelihood of Missouri overall having a white Christmas. The first has to do with snow being on the ground Christmas morning. This is a graphic from the weather geniuses at NOAA. You'll notice that Missouri has a 10 to 25% chance of snow on the ground Christmas morning.

The second shows the chances of snow actually falling on Christmas day. This shows Missouri only having a slight chance of that happening.

There's another factor to consider for Missouri's white Christmas probability

The National Weather Service is saying that at least the start of December in Missouri will be warmer than normal. It's worth mentioning that this could change on a dime by the middle to late part of the month, but the chances of a white Christmas in Missouri look a little more unlikely this year than normal.
