Recently Jeff Dorsey and I (Sarah Deien) celebrated Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day.  Although Y101 isn't a country-music format (but if that's your thing check out our sister station 979kickfm.com) you don't have to be a fan of country crooners to appreciate a good song title.

The Big Dog and I had some laughs looking through an archive of country music headliners.  How about this one from singer Jerry Reed, "She Got the Gold Mine, I Got the Shaft."  Johnny Cash sang the blues in his song, "Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart."  Legends Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn teamed up for this one, "You're the Reason Our Kids Are So Ugly."

It seems the majority of the funniest song titles have to do with lost love.  A few are just clever, like the Bellamy Brother's hit, "If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?"  Here's another doozy, "They May Put Me In Prison, But They Can't Stop My Face From Breaking Out."

Here are some more of our favorites:

She Got the Ring, I Got the Finger

I Would Have Writ You a Letter but I Couldn't Spell Yuck

Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed

I'm Just a Bug on the Windshield of Life

My Wife Ran Off with My Best Friend and I Sure Do Miss Him

You Were a Splinter as I Slid Down the Bannister of Life

Ever Since I Said 'I Do' There's a lot of Things You Don't

The Next Time You Throw That Frying Pan, My Face Ain't Gonna Be There

I'm So Miserable Without You, It's Like Having You Around

If the Phone Don't Ring Baby, You'll Know It's Me

I Wouldn't Take Her to a Dogfight Because I'm Afraid She'd Win

How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away?

Are there any more quirky country music song titles you can add?
