UFO Mystery: Color-Changing Orbs Appear Nightly in Illinois

I think it's safe to say that nearly everyone has seen something odd in the sky at some point in their lives. However, there's a new report of not just a one time phenomenon, but a nightly appearance of fast-moving color-changing orbs over Illinois.

There's a new report from Raleigh, Illinois of a strange sky sight

The eyewitness report was shared to the National UFO Reporting Center site by a resident near Raleigh, Illinois who is seeing something strange and it's happening constantly. Here's a snippet of their exact words describing what they're seeing:

"Nightly occurrence, darting orbs that quickly disappear...Every night from 10-12, anywhere from 1-5 color changing orbs appear in the same spot. They appear, quickly dart in one direction, and the light fades out. It doesn’t appear the same as an airplane or other aircraft."

The first thing I check when I see reports like this is the location to see if there are any nearby airports or military bases. Raleigh, Illinois is in the southeastern part of the state with Scott Air Force Base being one of the closes military bases. Scott is just under two hours to the northwest. Fort Campbell is about 2 1/2 hours to the south in northern Tennessee. There are no craft that I'm aware of that would appear nightly over that part of Illinois. I would wonder about drones, but they're not that fast-moving compared to what the eyewitness says they're seeing. The bottom line is there is no easy answer about what this person is witnessing on a regular basis which means these are UFO's by definition.
