The annual Polar Plunge is coming to a lake near you! The 2015 Special Olympics Illinois Polar Plunge is February 28 at Upper Moorman Park in Quincy.

The plunging begins at 12:15. Heather Davis and her crew have been working hard on getting people to take the plunge and help raise money for Special Olympics. Right now, the top teams are the Mighty Plungers, the Quincy Cop Cycles and Alpha Sigma Alpha. We would love to have your name on the list! To take the Polar Plunge, all you have to do is raise a minimum of $75 for Special Olympics Illinois.

The Polar Plunge wouldn't happen without the Quincy Fire Department on hand to help out. Last year, there was ice on the pond which was very thick. The Quincy Fire Department had to break big chunks of ice before we could get underway. Also,a big thank you to the Quincy Park District for letting us use Upper Moorman Park for this event year after year.

To find out more or to enter the Polar Plunge, contact Heather Davis at hdavis@soill.org or call 217-322-7451.
