The Illinois Lottery has announced a new lottery game that will raise money for Special Olympics and primarily for the sports training programs. This special lottery ticket cost $3 and has an opportunity to win one of four instant prizes worth $50-thousand. Some 40-thousand Special Olympians will receive the net proceeds after prize payouts and expenses are paid. The game is expected to raise approximately $1-million according to Illinois Lottery officials.

This is not the first time the Illinois Lottery has had a specific fund-raising game as they have done so for other charitable causes like AIDS research Veterans, Multiple Sclerosis and Breast Cancer victims.

This particular Special Olympics Lottery game was approved by the state legislators in 2014 and is now available to the public to purchase.
