The photos unfortunately aren't clear, but one thing is. There's a big cat roaming the fields of northeast Missouri. Is it a mountain lion or just a large feral cat? Look at the pics and you decide.

Big thanks to my friend Greg Ruhl who shared this picture on Facebook. This is the original zoomed out photo of a big cat spotted across from where Greg lives on Route HH in northeast Missouri.

If you zoom in closer, you can see the animal better, but it's still pixelated. Mountain lions are huge animals so I'm not saying that I believe this is one. But, it also appears a bit big to be just a regular feral, too.

Here's a snippet of what Greg shared on his Facebook post:

This was in my front yard. The MO Conservation Dept has been notified, with the photos. The Dept says after reviewing the photo that this is a feral cat. THIS is NOT a kitty cat. These are here in NE MO.

So the Missouri Department of Conservation says this is a feral cat. I'm no expert, but if that's the case, it's a VERY LARGE feral cat. Could it be a juvenile? Greg mentioned several of his neighbors have found curious tracks in the area also.

As I've shared before, the state of Missouri has a map of mountain lion sightings and you can see that they have been spotted before in northeast Missouri.

Is the big cat photographed near Route HH in northeast Missouri just a feral cat roaming the woods or something...larger. You decide. Check out the state's own guidelines on how to tell if a mountain lion is in your Missouri neighborhood.
