You can't kill a mountain lion in Missouri as they are a protected species unless it's done in self-defense. There is now a report that a Missouri man who killed one of these big cats in November has been officially charged because of that incident.

Missouri Department of Conservation has confirmed a hunter killed a mountain lion this past weekend.

Something odd is happening in Missouri in regards to mountain lions and the state needs your help to find out why.

Many have claimed they've seen a mysterious large black cat in Missouri while authorities say that's not possible. Yet, the sightings continue including one yesterday that swears they just saw another black panther in Missouri.

I would have never guessed there would be any chance that someone in Missouri could mistake a mountain lion for a red fox, but after watching a recent share from a trail cam, I'm a believer.
