Yahoo News and USA Today both reported that 29-year-old Brianna Lynn Lingo of Moberly was arrested by the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. USA Today reports that she is charged with "felony charges of stealing an animal and animal abuse by torture and mutilation while the animal was alive" which the Randolph County Sheriff's Office website confirms.

USA Today reports that Brianna's mother called 911 and said that her daughter had killed her dog as part of a sacrifice. They note that the sacrifice part is not reflected in the online police report on the Randolph County website.

The officers responding to the 911 call reportedly found the deceased animal in a fire pit outside of the home.

Brianna Lynn Lingo is currently listed as an inmate on the Randolph County Sheriff's Office website. USA Today reported she will face a bond hearing on June 21.
