US Marshals Just Captured 2 Dangerous Fugitives in Missouri

The US Marshals have just completed two operations in Missouri that have resulted in the capture of two dangerous fugitives who were on the run. It took them less than 8 hours to apprehend both individuals.

The United States Marshals just shared details of what just happened in Missouri in a new press release. They say that the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force made up of Task Force Officers and Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Eastern District of Missouri learned on August 27, 2026 that a suspect wanted for allegedly being involved in a murder in Independence was hiding in the St. Louis area. As soon as that arrest was complete, the US Marshals learned another suspect wanted for the murder of a woman on August 23 was hiding in Moberly. After a brief standoff, they took that fugitive into custody, too.

“Our Deputy Marshals with the assistance of state and local partners, are ever vigilant in their pursuit of the most dangerous fugitives in society and make a difference every day,” said U.S. Marshal Steven Lewis, of the Eastern District of Missouri.

These successful captures were the result of teamwork involving Deputy United States Marshals and officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, St. Louis Metropolitan, St. Louis County and St. Charles County Police departments and multiple municipal officers. They were able to successfully find fugitives who fled the regions where the crimes they were allegedly involved in happened, but that didn't stop the Marshals from bringing them back to face justice.
