Parkville Nature Sanctuary is one of the highest rated trails in the Kansas City area on Trip Advisor. It's very scenic with tons of waterfalls and attracts a lot of families that walk its many paths. Among all the glowing reviews, you won't see any mention of mountain lions, but perhaps that's about to change.

Despite their fierce reputation, mountain lions are solitary creatures and will rarely ever attack a human. What happened to Stephen Davis is typical. Once the cat realizes you're there, it will most likely quickly flee.

You will rarely ever see one of these large cats especially in such a populated area like Parkville, Missouri. But, as the song says, there's a first time for everything.
