Air Quality in Missouri & Illinois Could Be Problematic Wednesday
If you happen to have a health situation where you have sensitive lungs, you need to know that air quality in many parts of Missouri and Illinois could be very problematic Wednesday.
This is the air quality situation as of this writing on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 according to the government's Air Now website. The orange area means that air quality could be a problem for the very young, elderly and/or anyone with sensitive lungs.
The National Weather Service is now advising that Wednesday air quality could be worse when they included this advisory in their daily weather story.
What's causing the frequent air quality problems over Missouri and Illinois?
As we mentioned recently, the poor air quality is the result of wildfire smoke from Alberta, Canada that has drifted far enough south to remain a near constant irritation for most of Missouri and Illinois. There's no indication that this situation is gonna change anytime soon.
If you'd like to check the current air quality yourself, you can see the current conditions on the Air Now website.
