Skies over Illinois have looked odd recently for a couple of reasons from completely different places.

If you've been watching sunsets in Missouri the past couple days, you've likely noticed there's suddenly a hazy orange tint to it all. There's a reason for the quick change in how our skies appear.

We do have a chance of storms off an on in Missouri this week because it's Spring and it's Missouri. However, there may be things blocking the sun this week, but it might not be clouds or storms to blame.

Wildfire smoke has created more hazy skies over Missouri and Illinois this week although storms today cleared the air a bit. There were many who have noticed that the wildfire smoke smelled kind of funny this time and I think I know why.

If you happen to have a health situation where you have sensitive lungs, you need to know that air quality in many parts of Missouri and Illinois could be very problematic Wednesday.

If you thought the wildfire smoke that brought hazy conditions to both Missouri and Illinois were interesting on Wednesday, wait until you see the conditions that are expected to intensify by Friday.

There's a good chance that skies will look a little strange over Missouri and Illinois Wednesday and it's Canada's fault. Or, at least it's something that's happening in Canada that's responsible. I'll explain.
