Video: Missouri Patrol Chase Ends with Spike Strips in Hannibal
If you doubt how difficult it is to be a trooper for the Missouri State Highway Patrol, you should see a dashcam video that shows how they ended a truck chase with spike strip deployment near Hannibal.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, this chase with a truck happened Christmas morning on Highway 61 heading north. It started in Montgomery City and finally came to an end just south of Hannibal.
In case you can't see the text of what the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in their Facebook reel, here are the details:
"Hop in for a wild Christmas Morning ride-along from our POV. Beginning in Montgomery City, this truck sped through towns, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck several vehicles. Even on multiple flat tires, the driver kept going—until the chase ended in Hannibal. Coordinated efforts by Hannibal Police Department, Ralls County Sheriff's Office, and Audrain County Sheriff's Office brought the driver into custody. No serious injuries were reported and the driver is now facing several felony charges"
The good news is that no serious injuries have been reported from the vehicles that were struck by this runaway truck. This could have been a much more tragic story than it ended up being thanks to the many Missouri law enforcement agencies that assisted with this takedown.
