Missouri Highway Patrol Warns of Catastrophic, Historic Flooding
Already a lot of rain has fallen in Missouri, but more is on the way which has led the Missouri State Highway Patrol to issue stern warnings about catastrophic and potentially historic flooding over the next few days.
Here are the exact words from a bulletin shared by the Missouri State Highway Patrol about what's expected to happen over the next several days:
"Much of Missouri could be impacted by damaging severe storms and heavy rainfall. Dangerous and potentially historic rainfall is expected, especially across southeast Missouri"
What's going on that bringing so much rain to Missouri?
Meteorologist Travis Roberts just showed how moisture from the Gulf of Mexico (or America if you prefer) is being drawn up northward which is bringing round after round of heavy rain. This is Thursday.
Friday, there's even more moisture.
The same can be said about Saturday with an even wetter atmosphere over Missouri.
I heard the moisture that's impacting Missouri this week described in a startling way. The state will receive 4 months of rainfall is just 7 days. Incredible.
This is why the Missouri State Highway Patrol is already issuing advisories telling drivers to avoid flooded roadways and be aware of this historic period of rainfall that the state continues to experience.
