Missouri’s Risk for Strong Tornadoes Wednesday Just Doubled
It would be wise to pay close attention to the skies as storms begin to pop during the middle of the week in Missouri as the state's risk of strong tornadoes has just doubled based on updated computer models.
A couple of days ago I shared the advisory from the NOAA Storm Prediction Center that said Missouri was right in the middle of an area that has a 15% chance of seeing severe storms starting Wednesday. Now, the meteorologists have just upgraded the Missouri risk to 30% which is represented by the orange area in their storm map for the middle of the week.

Here are the exact words from the Storm Prediction Center discussions about what they expect from the incoming storm system for Missouri:
"Intense thunderstorms may produce swaths of damaging wind, as well as strong tornadoes and large hail"
Storm chasers are also sharing details of what they expect to see happen.
The NOAA Storm Prediction Center forecasters warn that the advisory area could shift as we get closer to Wednesday. It looks like the most explosive time window for severe storm development will be Wednesday afternoon into the early evening hours. That's according to the latest update I've seen from the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri shared on social media today. Make sure you have multiple ways to get storm warnings from the NWS when/if they are issued. Wednesday weather is definitely looking more problematic the closer we get to it.
