The Missouri Department of Conservation just shared an update today about an injured eagle that was discovered in bad shape after being tangled in fishing line a few weeks ago. The authorities thought he might never fly free ever again due to his weakened condition, but thanks the an expert team of raptor rehabilitators, this story had a happy ending.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says Dickerson Park Zoo was the place where this eagle was given his strength again. It was October 17, 2025 when this eagle was released near Table Rock Lake so he can soar in the skies of Missouri again. There were so many heroes in this story. From Shell Knob resident B.J. Leonard who discovered the wounded eagle and called authorities to the raptor experts that helped him strengthen his wings again. All should be given high fives for their great effort into making sure this proud bird could return to where he belongs.
