
Critical Fire Danger in Missouri – Do Not Burn Anything Friday
This is one warning you should absolutely abide by. The fire danger in Missouri has been elevated to a critical level on Friday and you are being asked to not burn anything anywhere.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri just released this bulletin alerting everyone that the fire danger in the state has been rated as critical now and there are specific warnings for different parts of the state.
Low humidity, dry land and high winds in Missouri are a very dangerous combination and forecasters have issued a red flag warning with specific guidance for the southern half of Missouri.
The NWS in St. Louis knows that the humidity and ground conditions will be at a level which will make any wildfire unpredictable. They're not sure about the timing of the expected 15 to 25 mph wind gusts, but it's very likely that variable will be in place, too.
There is help on the way for Missouri though...
Rain is expected to provide some relief Saturday into Saturday night. Missouri just needs to get through a very dry Friday before that relief arrives. The state said it has battled more than 80 wildfires in the last week alone.
