Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore's office, in a news release made available today, announced the appointment of Jeff Mays to serve as Interim Director of Administrative Services replacing Skip Bright who recently announced his resignation.

Mayor Kyle Moore said “Jeff Mays’ unmatched service to Quincy and the State of Illinois will no doubt serve him well in this role". Moore also stated “Jeff is one of the most respected public servants in Quincy and in Illinois. He’s represented the voice of the business community and worked in a bi-partisan manner to pass meaningful legislative and regulatory reform. Few candidates could bring his depth of experience to this role and I look forward to what we can accomplish together.”

Jeff Mays recently completed four years of service to the State of Illinois by serving as the director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security an agency with a $195 million annual budget and 1,150 employees.

Mays previous legislative experience includes service as a State Representative for five terms and Vice-President of the Quincy School Board. His executive level experience includes President of the Illinois Business Round Table for sixteen years and Vice President of Human Resources and Executive Vice President of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

Mays will begin his term on March 4th, 2019 and serve for 180 days, after which, his appointment would need to be confirmed by the City Council. He will earn an annual salary of $75,000.
