The Adams County Sheriff's Office has released additional information in connection with an incident that took place early Saturday morning in Camp Point.

Deputies were dispatched to the Express Wash car wash in Camp Point about 3:15 a.m. Saturday on a report of a vehicle on fire.

Officers arrived to find an unoccupied pickup truck that was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by Camp Point firefighters.

An initial investigation determined the truck had been used ram a Liberty Bank ATM and the surrounding metal structure in front of the car wash.

The driver of the truck tried without success to dislodge the ATM and got stuck on the metal pylons around the ATM.

The truck, the ATM and the surrounding structure suffered heavy fire damage.

A further investigation revealed the gray 4-door Dodge truck had been stolen from the 8th and Gardner Expressway area in Quincy.

The investigation into the incident continues. If you have information, contact the Adams County Sheriff's Office at 217-277-2200 or Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers at 217-228-4474.
