If you don't already know, you're not supposed to get close to bears. One Illinois woman should know that now as she's officially been charged for getting too close to a grizzly in Yellowstone National Park.

ABC7 shared video of the original encounter on YouTube. The lady in this video is very fortunate that the bear was bluff charging and not attacking for real.

KPAX is now reporting that the woman in the video is Samantha Dehring of Carol Stream, Illinois. Their story says that the U.S. District Court has charged her with a number of violations which include intentionally disturbing wildlife among other things.

The fact that the grizzly was a mother with cubs made the encounter especially dangerous. The National Park Service mandates that everyone maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from bears and wolves whenever possible.

Whoever the woman in the video is should be thankful. The encounter could have turned tragic as it did a few years ago for a man who was mauled to death by a grizzly in Yellowstone.

The KPAX story indicates that Samantha Dehring will appear in court to respond to the charges on August 26.
