Truck Tracked to Illinois Warehouse Holding $2M in Stolen Goods
It's amazing what you can find when you look hard enough. A sheriff's office in Illinois followed a suspicious truck back to a warehouse and what they found inside dropped their jaws as $2 million dollars in stolen goods were being stored inside.
I came across this interesting Illinois bust on the trucking industry site CDL Life. It's based on a share by the Cook County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook/Meta page which documented a $2 million dollar bust they made in December.
This caper started when an insurance company notified the Cook County Sheriff's Office of a theft of products in a Target trailer. The GPS of the truck was tracked to 4100 block of 166th Street in Oak Forest, Illinois. Sheriff's deputies met with the warehouse owner and asked to look around and they were cooperative. Investigators found many known stolen items "in plain sight" that totaled $2 million dollars. They said the stolen items included "multiple pallets of Dyson products, Wahl hair clippers, and Nike shoes" plus many other types of items, too. Along with Target items, they found stolen goods from Amazon, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Ninja/Shark, NOCO, Old Navy, TJX, Ulta, Victoria Secret, and Walmart, too. They concluded that this is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released once that concludes.
