Emergency Tuna Recall from Missouri & Illinois Grocery Stores
There is a potentially fatal food poisoning risk that has led to grocery stores in Missouri and Illinois to issue an emergency recall of tuna.
The Food and Drug Administration has just issued a bulletin alerting everyone in Missouri and Illinois that tuna that was available in numerous stores could have a fatal contamination risk. They say that a supplier alerted a seafood manufacturer that their tuna cans could be compromised which could lead to clostridium botulinum, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. As the World Health Organization says "botulinum toxins are one of the most lethal substances known".
This recall affects the following tuna brands that were available at Missouri and Illinois Trader Joe's:

The manufacturer which is Tri-Union Seafoods says to dispose of these cans if you find you have the affected product or you can return them to the Missouri or Illinois Trader Joe's location where they were purchased.
