There's a building in Missouri that has some of the richest history in the state and it's still one of the best places to hold a wedding, but there's one other thing you should know. Many in the paranormal community consider it to be one of the most haunted places in the state.

The official winery website says that the Odd Fellows Home on the grounds of the winery "is significant as an early 20th century example of a statewide home providing care and education for the orphans and elderly members of a fraternal organization". It consists of the following:

• An orphanage
• A school
• A hospital
• A nursing home
• A morgue
• A cemetery with hundreds of graves

Oh, and the number of ghost stories that many share about this winery and buildings are legion. They speak of children's laughter, running footsteps on upper floors and voices when no one else is present.

There are reports that the winery's CEO, Jesse Leimkuehler, has admitted that he went from being a skeptic of these paranormal happenings to a believer based on what he's witnessed:

• Seeing what appeared to be a young boy dressed in period clothing.
• Witnessing multiple apparitions over the years.
• Feeling intense chills and goosebumps during encounters.

Doors open by themselves. Shadow figures are seen and unexplained music has been heard there. The TV series Ghost Hunters even did an episode about Belvoir Winery and Inn back in 2013. That's why you can add this historic place to the list of Missouri's most haunted destinations - if you dare.
