There's a terrifying story of two Missouri hunters who claim their deer stand was completely destroyed by a huge creature who took it down while they were still in it.

One of the best hunting storytellers on the net is Base Camp Chris on YouTube. He just shared a new video a few days ago that tells the story of two Missouri hunters who had a terrifying encounter with...something huge. It was a creature that eventually injured them when it destroyed their deer stand when they were still in it.

While I recommend listening to Chris share their tale, here's the short version of what happened. Dave and Randy decided to go hunting in the Mark Twain National Forest on remote property owned by their uncle that consisted of around 400 acres. It was in the Fall of 2012 when they made this trip. They arrived at their uncle's farmhouse and left at around 4am in the morning on the first day on a quad heading out toward his uncle's deer blind. The first morning they saw a herd of deer in the distance, but they were waiting for a 12-point buck they had heard was in the area, so they didn't take any shots. Suddenly, they heard a loud, but distant guttural howl which spooked the deer away. They thought it might be a wolf, but later learned there have been no wolves in Missouri for decades. They went back to their uncle's farmhouse and explained what they had heard and he shook his head and said "big hairy man", but refused to elaborate further.

The next morning, Randy and Dave left for the blind again. They suddenly stopped when they thought they saw something large cross the trail in front of them, but eventually proceeded when they couldn't determine what it was. They reached the blind and climbed the ladder into it to wait for the deer herd again. A couple hours later, the herd returned and the 12-point buck was a part of the group. As one of them started trying to line up his shot, the deer blind they were in started to shake violently. The deer herd ran off spooked by whatever it was that had shaken the blind. Both men reached for their rifles, but the blind kept shaking until it finally collapsed over a dozen feet to the ground. Both men sustained injuries, but one of them reached for his rifle and took a shot at a large creature that he saw heading off into the woods. His shot missed. Both of them eventually composed themselves and got out of the destroyed blind debris and got back on the quad. As they fled the forest, their uncle met them along the trail. He had heard the gunshot.

Both men had to get medical treatment for what appeared to be a broken wrist and gashes to the other man's face. After the treatment was complete, their uncle took them back to where the blind had been and discovered one of the rifles that they had left when they fled. They were all stunned when they looked down and saw 3 footprints more than 17 inches in length in the mud underneath the debris of the blind. Something enormous had taken down that blind and all 3 vowed to never return to hunt there ever again.
