COVID, quarantine, and a lack of certified drivers is forcing the Hannibal Public School District to temporarily close select bus routes.

Next week, from November 9 through the 13, four school bus routes will not run in Hannibal Public School District #60. Students who usually ride buses number 1, 9, 15, and 25 will have to find their own rides to school. The other option is for the affected students to join their classes remotely using school-issued Chromebooks or personal home computer.

Hannibal Superintendent of Schools Susan Johnson states:

“We apologize for the inconveniences that these actions may cause your family. This decision was not made lightly, and will assist our district to continue to maintain an ‘in person education’ while addressing the many complications of educating students and keeping everyone safe and healthy in a pandemic. We greatly appreciate your understanding and assistance in helping our district navigate unprecedented challenges.”
