I had my annual visit to my doctor this week and was discussing my adventures with preparing for the visit on the air with my co-host Sarah Deien on the Y101 Morning Show. As usual, the conversation went a totally different direction and before I knew it we were discussing colonoscopies. Once we went there, there was no coming back. If you missed it, here is an encore presentation for you.

Meanwhile, as we were having some fun with this topic it is a very serious topic. Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women in the United States. It's expected to cause about 50,630 deaths during 2018.

The death rate (the number of deaths per 100,000 people per year) from colorectal cancer has been dropping in both men and women for several decades thanks to more people getting tested.

It is preventable, if you catch it early which is another reason to get tested regularly.
